NANSEMOND AND ISLE OF WIGHT SOLDIERS

No further casualties have been reported to us among the soldiers from these counties. Those wounded in the recent engagements are doing well.

We learn that Lieutenant Colonel Thomas E. Upshaw, of the 13^th Virginia cavalry, has tendered his resignation and it has been accepted.

Captain Solomon B. Eley, being the senior Captain, is now in command of the 16^th Virginia Regiment and companies A and B of the 16^th Regiment have been thrown together for the present, under command of Captain L. R. Kilby. No officers were left in company A after the fight of the 27^th. Company I, in the 41^st Regiment, has also been thrown for the present with some other company.
